Distinguishing Features

Seasonally dormant, tuberous geophytes; petiole mottled, smooth, rough or aculeate; leaves 1-2; leaf blade dracontioid, ultimate lobes lacking submarginal vein; spathe strongly fornicate, tube margins not overlapping; flowers bisexual, perigone absent; style very long, projecting well beyond stamens. Differs from Dracontium in flowers lacking perigone, berries with densely prickly pericarp and southeast Asian range.
