Distinguishing Features

Seasonally dormant tuberous geophytes; leaves several; leaf blade ovate-cordate, fine venation reticulate; flowers unisexual, perigone absent; male flower a stipitate synandrium; female flowers surrounded by a whorl of free staminodes. Differs from Gorgonidium in entire, shallowly cordate leaf blade and synandria entirely connate with inconspicuous connectives.
